Fausto Fernandez is a mixed media artist that currently resides in the wholesale district of Los Angeles.
Born in El Paso, Texas, and raised in Juarez Mexico, Fausto ultimately returned to the states to complete a BFA in graphic design and painting.
Fausto’s heavily layered works feature prominent fabric patterns (proximity to his studio’s local textile manufacturers), portraits of friends, and large schematic drawings of aviation accoutrement.
The impressive scale of these works bring the airplane parts to near life size. Fausto’s interest seems to lay in the exploration in the exchange between man and machine (and how force must be applied by the person keep the relationship going).
Mr. Fernandez also recently completed a mammoth 4 year long floor installation for the Sky Harbor International Airport in Phoenix, Arizona.
